Join Clariant as the Syngas Sales Manager - US & Canada and lead the growth of our catalyst portfolio across the region. In this role, you will drive sales, expand Clariant's competitive position, and grow market participation for Hydrogen, Ammonia, and Methanol clients, managing the full sales cycle while maintaining strong customer relationships, acquiring new clients, and providing technical and commercial support, including on-site services, training, and troubleshooting. You will also contribute to market intelligence, coaching, and industry events to strengthen Clariant's presence. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with commercial acumen and excels in building lasting client relationships. Responsibilities



  • Manage the complete sales process, including acquisition, bid proposals with risk management, contract negotiations, and after-sales services.
  • Support order processing and maintain direct customer contact for all commercial and technical matters.
  • Maintain and grow business with existing customers through frequent technical and commercial meetings and account management.
  • Acquire new customers by analyzing and understanding client technology and offering appropriate products.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts for resource planning.
  • Utilize and maintain reporting systems (CRM, Installed Volume, Miller-Heimann Sheets, Call Reports, etc.).
  • Develop and propose pricing/margin expectations based on market and competition analysis in line with BU strategy.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships, understand client organizations, and establish higher-level contacts.


  • Liaise with Applied Catalyst Technology and PM/TA functions to deliver technical feedback from customers.
  • Provide on-site services such as start-up assistance and operator/customer training.
  • Perform data evaluations, technical consulting, troubleshooting, and spent catalyst analysis.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating technical design guidelines, operating instructions, and reference lists.
  • Support joint projects with customers and handle customer claims professionally.


  • Participate in professional technical and commercial trainings/seminars according to the approved training program.
  • Attend scheduled safety trainings organized by Clariant and customers.
  • Train colleagues and peers technically and provide essential sales coaching.


  • Collect and communicate market and competitor information.
  • Share market insights with internal functions such as R&D and Business Development.
  • Represent Clariant at industry-relevant events, including conferences and congresses.



Requirements

* Degree in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering (additional Business Management skill is of advantage)

* - >5a experiences in a chemical industry

* - >5a of technical sales experience preferred

* Fluent in English (business fluency), CRM/SAP knowledge will be bonus, communicative, good negotiation skills
