JOB DESCRIPTION: Occupational Summary: Primary responsibility of a Senior Machine Maintenance is to perform a variety of diversified duties that involve the repair and maintenance of fixtures and machinery in support of manufacturing operations. Requirements: Education: High School diploma or equivalent or better Experience: 1 year of experience working with AC/DC current and basic theory Job Skills: Basic understanding of AC/DC and fundamental theory Demonstrated ability to perform competently a minimum of 10 of the identified Machine Maintenance skills OR demonstrated ability to perform competently any 1 of the following skills: Robotics PLC (including ability to debug PLC software) VFD Servo Encoder HMI, MMI or GUI Engineering Abilities: Ability to self diagnose and repair all CNC equipment and all critical high precision mechanical equipment Ability to self diagnose problems and perform troubleshooting to satisfactory conclusion (completing the repair) Ability to define needed equipment and parts to repair issues Understanding of electrical control systems including motor control, relay control Able to troubleshoot for AC/DC and some electronics Ability to work efficiently without constant supervision Other Requirements: Note: Physical job requirements may include standing, use of hands to assemble and or carry out job functions as well as sitting, lifting, carrying, bending and stooping during the course of the job. Ability to lift 40 lbs. Machine Maintenance Skills:
Duties and Responsibilities: Perform diversified duties to plan procedures, repair, rebuild, maintain and install a wide variety of complex standard and special purpose precision machine tools and equipment. Works from manufacturer's machine design prints; Electrical circuits diagrams, specifications and hydraulic diagrams as well as pneumatics. Use scale, calipers, levels, micrometers, parallels, jo-blocks, and various gauging devices, and DVM or diversify Electrical or Electronics test meters for measuring. Use a wide variety of hand and/or power tools incidental to work assignments and various types of hoisting equipment. Diagnose machine malfunctions and operating difficulties, determine extent of repairs necessary and estimate labor time; effect repairs and adjustments. Improvise and make adjustments to improve performance of machinery and equipment, increase speed and accuracy and minimize needed maintenance. Rebuild and repair machines and troublesome components and attachments. Dismantle, inspect, make-up or requisition replacement parts; assemble, test and adjust. Fit and align bearings, spindles and shafts; scrape ways; fit, align and calibrate measuring devices, moving parts and adjusting and feeding mechanisms. May lay out repair parts. Set-up and operate machine tools such as milling machines, surface grinders and metal-working lathes to machine parts to close tolerances, select tooling, speeds, feeds, operating sequences and methods involved. May perform welding, brazing, flame coating and sheet metal operations involved in repairing. May act as project leader on jobs; assign work to, instruct and inspect work of other area personnel and coordinate operations with Electricians General Maintenance personnel and others. Maintain necessary records. Detect and report unusual conditions and special problems to proper supervisor. Move materials, machinery, equipment and components, as required, in performance of duties or as directed. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations. Keep work area in clean and orderly condition. Perform other duties as required or directed.
