Site Overview:


At our Research & Development team in our stateoftheart Innovation Center in Aston, PA, you'll have access to advanced analytical and processing tools that support cuttingedge work in polyurethane chemistry and foam technology. As part of this team, you will lead highimpact projects, contribute directly to technical and medicalgrade foam products used in realworld applications, and serve as a technical expert and mentor within the organization.


Job Overview:


As a Director of Product Development you will thrive at the intersection of strategy and execution. In this role, you will set the direction for a growing product category while actively driving the work required to bring new products to market. You will shape the product roadmap, fuel innovation, and lead the overall development process from early concepts through commercialization. This position calls for a detail-oriented leader who balances creativity and strategic thinking with a willingness to roll up their sleeves to deliver results. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams across sales, product management, marketing, R&D, operations, and finance to ensure that new products not only meet customer expectations but are also delivered on time.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Drive the full product development cycle from initial concepts through product launch.
  • Translate consumer insights and competitive analysis into innovative, marketing leading products.
  • Ensure products meet key performance criteria including visual design, functionality, manufacturability, cost and development timelines.
  • Create and maintain detailed drawings, product specifications, bills of materials and compliance documentation.
  • Use design thinking and iterative development approaches to quickly ideate, prototype, test and refine new ideas.
  • Integrate the latest innovations, technologies, and market trends into the product development process.
  • Ensure products meet all relevant regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Support sales and marketing teams by providing customer samples and detailed product information.



Qualifications and Skills:




    • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Engineering or related field is required.
    • 7+ years of experience in new product development, with a preference for candidates with prior experience in the bedding industry, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or durable home goods.
    • Customer-centric approach with a strong problem-solving mindset.
    • Proven project management skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
