The Opportunity:

Shutterstock's Data Licensing division is driving the next wave of company growth by powering AI model training, content intelligence, and data-driven innovation for the world's leading technology companies. As the market accelerates, we are looking for a world-class Senior Director, Global Head of New Business to build and lead a high-performing go-to-market engine focused on generating net-new revenue and expanding our presence across emerging AI, enterprise, and developer ecosystems.

This is a senior, highly visible role responsible for defining our global new-business strategy, developing a repeatable outbound and inbound motion, and managing a team of sellers tasked with acquiring new logos and uncovering new streams of revenue within complex organizations. The ideal candidate is a natural hunter - energetic, curious, and relentless - with a proven track record of building pipeline from scratch and closing transformative deals.

The Day to Day:

  • Own the global strategy for net-new customer acquisition across AI, technology, enterprise, and startup sectors.

  • Build a scalable, high-velocity new business motion that includes outbound prospecting, demand generation, and strategic partnerships.

  • Identify untapped revenue opportunities inside large organizations, creating multi-threaded account entry and expansion strategies.

  • Develop category positioning and go-to-market narratives that differentiate Shutterstock's data licensing solutions.

  • Hire, lead, and motivate a global team of Account Executives and New Business Specialists.

  • Set clear expectations, quotas, and KPIs grounded in predictable pipeline generation and revenue attainment.

  • Implement consistent sales methodology, forecasting discipline, and deal inspection routines.

  • Oversee outreach strategies, including ABM, vertical-specific plays, events, and targeted prospecting motions.

  • Partner closely with Sales Development, Marketing, and Product to align messaging and accelerate deal cycles.

  • Ensure smooth handoffs to Customer Success and Account Management for renewals and long-term growth.

What You'll Bring to the Role:

  • 10-15 years of experience across B2B sales, enterprise sales, or data/AI licensing, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.

  • Proven track record of building net-new revenue streams and consistently outperforming targets.

  • A hunter mentality - thrives in ambiguity, loves prospecting, and excels at opening doors at complex global organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and scaling global sales teams across multiple regions.

  • Deep understanding of modern GTM systems (Salesforce, Outreach, intent data platforms, ABM tools).

  • Exceptional communicator who can motivate teams, influence cross-functionally, and present convincingly to C-level stakeholders.

  • Creative, resourceful, and metrics-driven, with a passion for building and optimizing efficient sales processes.

  • BA/BS required; MBA or equivalent experience a plus.

The base salary pay range is below:

  • $200k- $225k per year in New York.

Note: In addition to base salary, the role is eligible for an uncapped incentive opportunity, calculated as a percentage of sales closed, providing significant potential upside. Compensation plans are reviewed annually and may be subject to change.
