Principal Agile DevSecOps Engineer

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Agile DevSecOps Engineer providing support to the C3C/KR Wing Command and Control, Flight Operations Portfolio.

Kessel Run is an Air Force unit that delivers resilient command and control and targeting software capabilities that provide warfighters with decision advantage. Under the Department of the Air Force Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communication, and Battle Management (DAF PEO C3BM), Kessel Run technologies make up the DAF BATTLE NETWORK, the systems-of-systems designed to help the Joint Force make operational decisions faster than our adversaries. The Division architects and acquires the means to connect weapon systems with warfighters and decision makers to enable the warfighter to win against the pacing challenge in an era of great power competition.

This is a full time position located at Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA.

The DevSevOps Engineer duties will include building, configuring and managing existing Containerized and Kubernetes environments. The position is highly technical and balanced between engineering and operations roles such as systems engineering, configuration management and software development.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Work closely with vendor and partner resources to drive, implement, support and maintain infrastructure services used by existing new and legacy applications, with a primary focus on Kubernetes.
• Debug issues with Kubernetes clusters and complex applications hosted on k8s
• Work with the development teams on GitOps and the CI/CD process related to Kubernetes deployments
• Help deploy and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for the existing Development/Test/Production Infrastructure
• Work closely with application teams in ensuring best practices are followed and the infrastructure automation can be self-service
• Drive and support migration of services to production K8S environments
• Develop and support consistent deployment/management practices across public and private Cloud
• Hardening, securing the Kubernetes cluster with monitoring and auditing dashboards
• Be on call when needed to support the infrastructure and our systems

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret level clearance

Education: BS or MS in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience

• Extensive understanding of Kubernetes architecture and proven work experience managing Kubernetes (minimum 3 years)
• Experience with Gitlab, Linux & shell scripting essential
• Experience with spinnaker and with deploying and upgrading Kubernetes clusters
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies like Kubernetes, terraform and helm charts
• Familiarity and experience with Java/Springboot/React/Typescript based applications
• In-depth experience in on-prem and cloud systems, automation IaC & open-source toolsets
• Solid experience with Linux administration combined with good understanding of Linux infrastructure
• Ability to work independently and in teams, learn quickly in a dynamic and creative environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with working in a GovCloud environment
• SalesForce administration and toolset experience
