Opportunity

PeopleTec is currently seeking a Configuration Management Lead to support our Huntsville, AL location.

The Government Data Services (GDS) Joint Program Management (JPM) Configuration Management Lead supports the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires within the U.S. Army. This position provides senior-level Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) expertise in support of Army Fires acquisition programs. The CM/DM Lead serves as the subject matter expert for Army configuration and technical data management processes, ensuring compliance with DoD, Army, and program-specific policies. The role leads CM/DM activities, including the control, integrity, and delivery of technical data across multiple weapon systems and acquisition efforts.

Duties:

    Serve as the Configuration and Data Management subject matter expert supporting PAE Fires programs, providing guidance on DoD 5000-series acquisition policies and Army CM/DM standards.
  • Manage, as necessary, configuration control boards and steering boards to establish and maintain control of changes to baselines
  • Establish priorities, monitor performance, mentor personnel, and ensure accuracy and integrity of all configuration baselines and technical data.
  • Manage and optimize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools including Windchill and TopVue to support configuration control, data traceability, and lifecycle management of Fires systems.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMPs), Data Management Plans (DMPs), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, compliance, and process efficiency.
  • Coordinate with government program offices, engineering teams, logisticians, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate timely and accurate technical data exchanges.
  • Serve as the primary CM/DM interface with external stakeholders, leading recurring working groups and risk mitigation activities.
  • Conduct configuration audits, change control board (CCB) support, and status accounting activities to ensure configuration baselines are properly documented and controlled.
  • Create, maintain, and brief configuration status accounting reports, drawing trackers, and data delivery metrics to program leadership.
  • Support the development, review, and execution of Statements of Work (SOWs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), and Data Item Descriptions (DIDs) in support of Army acquisition contracts.
  • Provide expert review and recommendations on technical data packages, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), distribution statements, and configuration documentation.
  • Ensure proper organization, storage, security, and retrieval of technical data in accordance with contractual requirements, Army records management policies, and customer review workflows.
  • Plan and conduct CM/DM training sessions for government and contractor personnel to promote best practices and continuous process improvement.


Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in DoW configuration management role, or related roles, with experience supporting Army or joint programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience briefing or communicating with senior government stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Must have a current driver's license.
  • Travel: 10%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.TS/SCI preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field
