The Assistant Community & Alumni Engagement Coordinator will be an 11-month position and will provide collaborative support to both Engagement & Community Outreach and Alumni Relations (W Club). The role strengthens alumni connection, expands community impact initiatives, and supports strategic programs that connect former student-athletes, current student-athletes, and the broader Wisconsin community. Key responsibilities for the position can be found below.

This individual will also participate in the Emerging Leaders Program to gain hands-on experience, build their network, explore career options, and develop essential professional skills.

Key Responsibilities

Event Planning & Management


  • Collaborate with W Club staff to understand goals, themes, and desired outcomes for alumni events.
  • Assist with event logistics, including registration, marketing, catering coordination, venue setup, and dayof execution.
  • Conduct postevent evaluations to gather feedback and support continuous improvement.
  • Support alumni service initiatives, including partnerships with Badger Athlete Alumni Supporting Kids (BAASK).

Marketing, Storytelling & Data


  • Implement marketing strategies that increase alumni engagement and visibility of the W Club.
  • Create digital content and campaigns that highlight alumni stories and strengthen brand awareness.
  • Design marketing materials such as graphics, email communications, and social media content.
  • Maintain and update letterwinner data; use analytics to inform communication, outreach, and event planning.
  • Utilize platforms such as Salesforce, Cvent, Podium X, Canva, G Suite, and other designated systems to support engagement efforts.

Community Service & Strategic Initiatives


  • Assist in the development and execution of community service initiatives aligned with departmental strategic priorities
  • Support and advance Badgers Give Back, Wisconsin Athletics' community engagement platform
  • Design and coordinate service opportunities connecting student-athletes, alumni, staff, and community partners
  • Oversee community access and impact programs, including the youth ticket program and Wisconsin Athletics donation program, ensuring alignment with strategy and measurable outcomes
  • Track participation metrics and assess program effectiveness

Cross-Unit Collaboration & Support


  • Serve as a liaison between Alumni Relations and Engagement & Community Outreach to identify collaborative opportunities
  • Participate in team meetings and designated committees
  • Support Badger Built large-scale events and other athletics initiatives
  • Contribute to reporting, strategic planning, and special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Wisconsin Athletics' mission and strategic goals

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists with the design of student-focused programming and associated resources and materials to promote new and ongoing educational initiatives

Serves on collaborative committees and executes essential and administrative functions

  • Provides guidance on resources for individual students or internal stakeholder groups
  • May assist with supervising and training student employees
  • Assists with scheduling, logistics, securing resources, and facilitating one or multiple student affairs programs, activities, and/or services

Compensation:

$20/HR

Required Qualifications:

  • Able to work efficiently across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Intentional about building meaningful relationships with coaches, staff, and student-athletes
  • Strong self/social awareness skills and capable of professionalism in various settings
  • A proactive self-starter that embraces a growth mindset, feedback, and adaptability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in related field
  • Previous collegiate athletic experience

Education:

Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% University Staff fixed-term appointment, with an expected job end date in June of 2027. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included. Successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment.
