Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Neighborhood Patrol in Raleigh, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location supporting corrections operations as an armed patrol officer. You will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond to calls for service with clear communication and strong customer service. You will document activity, support staff and visitors, and work as part of an agile, reliable, innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response protocols appropriate for a government corrections location.
  • Carry and maintain issued duty equipment in accordance with post orders and applicable laws and/or regulations, and complete required checks prior to and during the shift.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, requesting additional assistance and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas, monitoring for unauthorized activity and/or conditions that could impact operations.
  • Control access at designated posts, verify identification and/or authorizations, document activity in reports and logs, and communicate updates through radio and/or other approved systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • An armed guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
