Job Summary

We are seeking Entry-Level Data Center Technicians to support the installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems and equipment within data center environments. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering hands-on training, mentorship, and a defined path for career growth within the low voltage and telecommunications industry. This position is open to candidates with no prior data center or low voltage cabling experience. Individuals with backgrounds in skilled trades such as construction, electrical, HVAC, or related fields are strongly encouraged to apply. Technicians will work under supervision to support national infrastructure projects involving copper and fiber cabling, equipment installation, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities




  • Pull, route, and organize copper and fiber cabling under supervision



  • Assist with building, installing, and dressing server racks, cabinets, and cable trays



  • Support rack and stack of customer equipment and server rack build-outs



  • Install cable pathways including ladder racks, basket trays, J-hooks, and fiber tray systems



  • Terminate basic copper connections (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and assist with fiber terminations



  • Label cables, racks, cabinets, and pathways according to project standards



  • Maintain proper cable bend radius, support, and routing practices



  • Assist with outside plant fiber routing into data center facilities



  • Support material receiving, hardware assembly, and inventory organization



  • Read and follow blueprints, rack elevations, and installation documentation



  • Assist with basic testing and troubleshooting under guidance



  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment



  • Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and required PPE protocols



  • Communicate professionally with team members, supervisors, and project leadership




Job Requirements




  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency



  • No prior data center experience required; 0-2 years of related experience preferred



  • Skilled trades background (construction, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or similar) preferred but not required



  • Basic understanding of hand tools and construction environments



  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team



  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards



  • Willingness to learn fiber optics, testing procedures, and advanced cabling techniques



  • Ability to work in data centers, server rooms, and commercial construction environments



  • Ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts and in confined spaces



  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds as needed



  • Ability to stand and work on feet for extended shifts



  • OSHA 10 certification preferred




Education




  • High School Diploma or GED required




Work Experience




  • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply



  • Experience in low voltage cabling, structured cabling, construction, or related skilled trades is a plus

  • Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM



  • Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM



  • Schedule: Monday through Saturday



  • Overtime may be required based on project needs
