We have an exciting opening for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer Intern in Enumclaw, WA. In this position, you will be responsible for learning the various aspects of the Parker Lean System. This includes participation in continuous improvement events and activities that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across manufacturing and business processes.

Your responsibilities

  • Assist in mapping current processes (value stream mapping, process flowcharting) and identifying waste in production and office environments.
  • Support kaizen events and problem-solving activities using standard Parker Lean System tools (e.g., 5S, standard work, visual management, root cause analysis, PDCA).
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize operational data (cycle times, defects, WIP, on-time delivery) to quantify improvement opportunities and track results.
  • Help develop and maintain Lean documentation such as standard work instructions, visual controls, and performance boards.
  • Partner with operations, quality, engineering, supply chain, and EH&S to implement improvements that are practical, safe, and aligned with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare presentations and status updates on improvement activities for supervisors and cross-functional teams.


Who we are looking for

  • Applicants should be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related engineering field
  • Ability to work MS Office, CAD (SolidWorks, Envoia, etc.) experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently

Ideally, you will also have

  • Able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Blueprint reading and technical report writing
  • Understanding of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement
