$2,000 SIGN ON BONUS Medical Assistant - 40 Hours - Days $2,000 Sign-on Bonus Eligible for Full-Time Benefits Shift: Days 7:00 am to 4:30 p. or 7:00 am - 3:30 pm No weekends. Some travel to off site clinics for flu shots and Fit testing will be required, but advanced notice will be provided. GENERAL SUMMARY: Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Responsibilities: Aids with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties including completing the Return-to-Work authorization checklist and process for associates returning from a leave of absence. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Fulfills basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing. Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment.ing within the past five (5) years. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills preferred. Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care preferred. Ability to problem-solve preferred. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills preferred. EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience preferred. Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA/CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Associations Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), and National Center for Competency Testing National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) preferred. Additional Requirements: Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum). OR Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years. OR Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). OR Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. OR Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by end of orientation.
