Job Description




As a Security Officer - Badge Verification in Cape Canaveral, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will help manage entry points, verify badges and/or credentials, greet associates and guests, and monitor activity from a visible post. You will conduct routine walkthroughs, document incidents, and communicate clearly with site leadership and law enforcement when needed. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, tenants, and/or employees by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and mall location.
  • Manage access control at designated entrances by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, logging entries and exits, and directing arrivals to the appropriate areas.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, access control system notifications, and radio calls; document incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Control delivery and contractor access by confirming work authorization, coordinating with tenant management, and guiding vehicles and pedestrians through approved routes and staging areas.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and to report hazards, maintenance needs, and policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
