TITLE

Coordinator, Field Experience & Assessment

JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator of Field Experience and Assessment will be in charge of all field placements for the department, including clinical practica and internships for the MS in Child Life, MS in Counseling & Development, and MS in Marriage & Family Therapy, as well as practicum for the undergraduate Child Development and Family Studies students. This coordination includes management of affiliation agreements, contact with site supervisors, site visits when needed, management of student applications for practicum/internship, and assisting students with placements. The Coordinator will also manage the TK20 database of student records related to field experience and graduation requirements (e.g., portfolio documents), as well as guiding students on how to use the database and upload additional documents. In addition, the Coordinator would serve as a valuable aide in the accreditation process for our CACREP accredited program in Counseling & Development, our two COAMFTE accredited programs in Marriage & Family Therapy, and our two ACLP endorsed programs in Child Life and Child Development. The Coordinator would help with data collection and assessment required as part of annual reports and reaccreditation. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Department Chair, Human Development, Family Studies & Counseling

Supervises: No supervisory responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:

  • Oversees practicum/internship sites for students in Human Development, Family Studies, & Counseling.

  • Reviews and revises affiliation agreements.

  • Oversees practicum/internship class applications.

  • Communicates with site supervisors, and performs site visits.

  • Assists students with practicum/internship placements.

  • Assists students with placements for observation hours.

  • Performs data entry and manages TK20 database for each program.

  • Manages assessment data and reports used for accreditation, AIIA, and program review.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

  • Assists Human Development, Family Studies, & Counseling office staff and department chair as needed.

  • Performs other duties as requested.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree required

EXPERIENCE

Three years' clerical or administrative office experience. Experience with legal contracts preferred. Experience working in a University setting preferred.

REQUIREMENT

Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

  • Ability to gather data and write reports.

  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to have an attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students.

  • Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including related university software and email.
