  • Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

  • Operates and carefully maintains equipment for pumping or repackaging gasses into cylinders.

  • Regularly monitors and maintains pumping apparatus, tanks, valves, and associated monitoring devices.

  • Hourly pay $25-$28 per hour plus Bonus

The Plant Maintenance Technician preserves and optimizes the facility, machinery, buildings, and equipment used in compressing and liquefying gasses. You will collaborate with internal and external customers to answer technical questions regarding Airgas equipment. This role is also essential in keeping the plant in alignment with all FDA, Safecor, and DOT regulations.

Ideally, you bring a commitment to company policies, including safety and the thoughtful use of personal protective equipment.

  • Installs, extracts, inspects, and optimizes bulk tanks, valves, and cryogenic pumps, ensuring successful operational tests after installation.

  • Operates and carefully maintains equipment for pumping or repackaging gasses into cylinders.

  • Regularly monitors and maintains pumping apparatus, tanks, valves, and associated monitoring devices.

  • Builds alignment by answering technical questions from internal or external sources.

  • Ensures any accident or injury is promptly and transparently reported to management.

  • Fosters safe and efficient operations through periodic checks of the Plant.

  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.

  • Contributes to a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.

  • Operates a vehicle to travel to customer sites to support equipment needs as required.

  • Optimizes equipment in the plant such as compressors, scrubbers, instrument panels, and electrical equipment, following blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals, using hand tools, welding equipment, and testing instruments.

  • Tests equipment to identify and resolve causes of trouble using standard test meters.

  • Systematically disassembles equipment using hand tools and power tools.

  • Welds, brazes, burns, and solders parts with precision.

  • Adjusts and replaces pipes and equipment using pipefitting tools.

  • Optimizes instrument control panels, rectifiers, motors, switches, and other electrical equipment.

  • Repacks compressors and pumps.

  • May operate metalworking tools to create or improve parts.

  • Changes filtration materials as required to ensure quality.

  • We look for these duties to be performed in alignment with company policies and procedures, complying with all federal, state, local, and DOT regulations.

  • Maintains a professional personal and vehicle appearance to represent the brand with excellence.

Required Education

  • High School Diploma. Post secondary education equivalent to a one year technical college or equivalent is an asset.

Preferred Education

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to a one-year technical college or similar background is a valued asset.

Experience

  • At least one year of knowledge and experience of arc and gas welding with at least two years industry experience is preferred. Competent in plumbing, carpentry and masonry work.

  • Experience working with electrical circuits, motors, compressors, pumps and drives in an industrial setting.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Possession of a valid Driver's License is required for this role.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to work occasional overtime to keep the plant running with limited downtown.

  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

  • Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 110 degrees.
