Vaco is partnering with a national wealth management technology organization to hire a Software Engineer supporting the development of advisor-facing applications within a large engineering organization. This role sits within a mature engineering environment focused on modernizing core platform capabilities while maintaining strong standards around code quality, collaboration, and engineering discipline.

This is a mid-level individual contributor role within a team of more than 40 engineers responsible for building and evolving a modern platform used by financial professionals nationwide. The environment combines a Microsoft-centric backend stack with modern front-end development, with a strong emphasis on maintainable architecture, testing discipline, and CI/CD practices.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with onsite collaboration Monday through Thursday and optional remote work on Fridays.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and services using C# and modern .NET frameworks

  • Contribute to React-based front-end components and shared UI libraries used across advisor-facing applications

  • Translate product requirements and UX designs into reliable, production-ready software

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that meets performance and accessibility standards

  • Participate in peer code reviews to ensure correctness, reliability, and engineering quality

  • Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end test coverage

  • Integrate applications with SQL Server, Cosmos DB, and other backend data services

  • Contribute to CI/CD workflows and automated testing pipelines using modern development tooling

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, architects, and engineering peers in Agile delivery cycles

  • Contribute to improving shared engineering standards, documentation, and development practices

Required Experience
  • 3 to 7 years of professional software development experience

  • Strong backend development experience with C# and modern .NET (.NET Core, .NET 5/6/7+)

  • Experience building RESTful APIs and backend services

  • Proficiency with SQL-based data systems such as SQL Server or Cosmos DB

  • Experience developing UI components with React or a comparable modern JavaScript framework

  • Hands-on experience with unit testing, integration testing, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience working with Git-based version control workflows

  • Experience collaborating within Agile engineering teams

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have
  • Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries

  • Familiarity with Azure services and cloud-native development patterns

  • Experience modernizing legacy systems or migrating monolithic applications

  • Experience integrating third-party APIs

  • Certifications related to Azure, React, or modern development frameworks
