Position Summary:

Shimadzu Scientific Instruments is seeking a Molecular Spectroscopy Intern to support the Molecular Spectroscopy team with application-focused laboratory studies and structured data analysis initiatives. In this role, you will assist with method development projects, collect and analyze spectral data, compare instrument performance under varying conditions, and help build structured datasets that support application development and product positioning. You will also contribute to technical documentation and materials used by internal teams and external audiences.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Assist with laboratory-based application studies using molecular spectroscopy instrumentation
• Support method development projects focused on material identification, product authentication, and chemical profiling
• Collect and analyze spectral data under varying environmental and testing conditions
• Assist with building and organizing comparative spectral libraries and datasets
• Analyze experimental results and summarize findings in a clear, organized format
• Contribute to preparation of technical documentation, presentations, and marketing-aligned materials

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Material Science or a related discipline
• Familiarity with analytical laboratory practices and instrumentation
• Strong analytical thinking and data interpretation skills
• Experience with Shimadzu instrumentation is a plus
