MU TITLE: Educational Program Coordinator II LOCATION: Hillcrest Community Center - Columbia, MO The University of Missouri (MU) Office of Extension and Engagement's distinct land-grant mission is to improve lives, communities, and economies by producing relevant, reliable, and responsive educational strategies throughout Missouri. Our dedicated and knowledgeable faculty and staff collaborate with researchers and community leaders to develop and deliver programs that address needs of Missourians including educational attainment; environmental concerns; community, economic, business and workforce development; global food systems; and health systems. MU Extension's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (Osher@Mizzou) is a continuing education program that offers non-credit courses designed to complement the lifestyles, interests, and concerns of the 50+ adult. The Institute's mission is to provide courses that embrace the curious mind of adults in retirement. For more information about Osher@Mizzou, visit osher.missouri.edu. This position is essential to the mission of Osher with a focus on program development and educational delivery and quality. Osher classes are in session 24 weeks of the year, over four semesters. The program went online in 2020 and now offers a full array of in-person, online and hybrid courses. This coordinator position focuses on program delivery, course development and design, membership support and instructor/volunteer relations. The ability to solve problems and conflicts in a variety of situations is critical to the success of the program, impacting participants/customers, department, and staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Administrative supervision is received from the Educational Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. Position may supervise student assistants. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Ability to occasionally work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required to fulfill assigned responsibilities. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
