Human Resources Assistant

Penn United Technologies, Inc. is now accepting applications for a full-time experienced Human Resources Assistant to work in our Human Resources team. In this role, you would serve as a key point of contact for employee-owners, providing guidance on HR questions and fostering a positive work environment. This role has the opportunity to lead to career advancement in the HR department.



Responsibilities:













  • Provide a variety of general administrative, clerical, special projects and daily support for HR, safety and training teams




  • Greet and assist internal and external visitors and direct to appropriate member of the HR team




  • Maintain daily & monthly ITAR visitor registration logs and use visitor screening software for background checks, etc.




  • Maintain room reservation approvals in MS Outlook




  • Maintain office supply inventory, order food, vending supplies and baby blankets and prepare purchase requisitions for goods and services




  • Process inter-office and external US mail, internal email correspondence, and monitor and respond to HR mailbox inquiries




  • Prepare and send company-wide communication including new hire and separation emails




  • Assist recruiter with tracking and follow-up of the online applicant assessment process, scheduling pre-employment physicals, and other recruitment support activities




  • Prepare orientation documents, gifts, and room setup




  • Create photo ID badges for new hires, and replacement badges as needed




  • Perform general filing of all applicant and personnel documents in compliance with company policy




  • Maintain and ensure a high level of integrity and confidentiality of all employee-owner records including "Protected Health Information", "Protected Medical Information", compensation records, and confidential company information




  • Input accurate data in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) in compliance with company policies




  • Manage required labor law posters at all company locations




  • Administer the company-wide service award program




  • Maintain Safety Data Sheet information in tracking database and hard copy binders




  • Assist leadership with the research and administration of training grant submissions and documentation




  • Work with HR team to produce various periodic reports and responses to inquires



Qualifications

Education / Experience



  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates degree in Human Resources or related field a plus


Required Knowledge and skills









  • Career advancement goals




  • Strong typing and data entry skills




  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail and deadlines




  • Demonstrated intermediate Microsoft Office, Outlook, internet navigation and able to quickly learn and use required computer software




  • HRIS software experience




  • Able to follow directions, complete tasks and use independent judgment in handling routine administrative matters




  • Strong team player and customer service driven




  • Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated, able to effectively manage multiple tasks




  • Strong ability to professionally communicate using both verbal and written skills
