The Office of Student Conduct for Residence Life is responsible for overseeing and managing the student discipline of on campus students. The Office of Student Conduct for Residence Life addresses student discipline and behavioral concerns, while balancing being educational and further developing residential communities.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Coordinator of Resident Support Services for the Office of Student Conduct for Residence Life. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Student Conduct for Residence Life.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Conducts independent and unbiased investigations as well as adjudicating all residential and university policy violations that take place within the residence halls and in the off-campus community, up to including cases that may result in removal from housing, suspension, or expulsion.
  • Serves as an investigator for Title IX violations, student organization misconduct cases, and academic integrity violations during their peak times.
  • Serves as a campus conduct liaison and provides support to the Residence Life campus staff by advising staff on case consultations, meeting with staff for one-on-ones, attending campus staff meetings, and presents at various trainings and departmental meetings
  • Co-advises the Associate Directors of Residential Communities, Senior Program Coordinator Supervisors for Residential Communities, Residence Life Coordinators, and Assistant Residence Life Coordinators in their conduct responsibilities and ensure staff addresses student behavior issues appropriately.
  • Conducts data assessment of trends in student behavior and student discipline using Maxient.
  • Collaborates closely with The Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution Services (OSC-CRS), the Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD), the Residential CARE Team, Acute Psychological Services (APS), Counseling, Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP), Health Outreach and Prevention Education (HOPE), Institutional Planning and Operations, Office of Student Affairs Compliance & Title IX, and Athletics.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience working in Residence Life, with some responsibility for student discipline, emergency response, and crisis management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in student affairs administration, higher education, or a closely related field.

  • Working knowledge of Title IX, the Clery Act, and FERPA.
