Description

The Senior Product Category Manager for Safco Products is responsible for managing multiple product categories. This role oversees the full product lifecycle across categories, ensuring clear positioning both within and across assigned portfolios. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of product management, lifecycle processes, financial metrics, demand generation marketing, and operations to proactively drive profitable sales growth. This position requires a passion for delivering customer-driven solutions through a balance of strategic and tactical execution.

This full-time role resides at Safco Product's office location in New Hope, MN.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for multiple categories within the portfolio. Manage all aspects of assigned categories, including sales direction, demand generation marketing, inventory management, and new product development.
  • Define product growth strategies and road maps based on market research, customer insights, and business objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, marketing, and sales to prioritize initiatives that drive profitable growth and market share gains.
  • Conduct and share market and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Leverage insights to ensure product pricing and positioning align with market expectations.
  • Use insights to prioritize line extensions and new product development (NPD) initiatives.
  • Serve as a product evangelist by clearly communicating product vision, strategy, and value propositions to internal stakeholders, customers, and partners.
  • Ensure products align with brand standards, positioning, and overall portfolio strategy.
  • Travel up to 25% as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Overall P&L responsibility for assigned categories
  • Development of annual product category plans (multiple categories)
  • Drive annual revenue goals
  • Improving Gross margin %
  • New product development leadership and line extensions
  • Plan product rationalization/culling actions
  • Monitor marketing pricing and determine annual pricing actions
  • Determine and execute demand generation actions to drive awareness and sales leads
  • Regular reporting of key performance metrics to senior management
  • Partners with sales, marketing, and other disciplines to advance key initiatives

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sciences or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of successfully launching and managing products in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of product management methodologies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams toward common goals and meet with customers
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to make informed product decisions.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with make-to-order manufactured product categories
  • Furniture experience
  • Sales or marketing experience

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $101,460 - $126,825 per year plus eligibility in annual bonus program. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.
