Summer Youth Worker( Non-Driving Position)

*** Full - Time and Part- Time positions available Monday- Friday 8:00 A.M.- 4:00 P.M., Pay Rate: $15.00 Per Hour***

***Position Dates: 05/25/26-07/31/26, Opportunity for year-round work also existing***

Summary/Primary Purpose: Plans, implements, supervises youth members and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all youth and their families to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

1. Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of positive youth development outcomes.
2. Promotes and stimulates youth participation and assists with registration of new members and participates in their program orientation
3. Provides guidance and role modeling to youth.

5. May oversee special programs and services to youth in programming.
6. Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of youth and quality in programs.

8. Assists with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
9. Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order as well as ensuring all storage areas are kept orderly and clean.
10. As needed, reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to supervisor.
11. This position may participate in special programs and/or events as directed.
12. All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Volunteers

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

1. Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
2. Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and As well as the ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.

1. Must pass all applicable background checks.
2. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Prefer but not required-Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (orability to obtain within established timeframe)
