Verizon's Consumer Wholesale plays a crucial role in how Verizon presents itself in the marketplace, enabling additional revenue streams and subscriber growth through consumer-focused MVNO distribution channels.

The GTS team seeks a highly innovative and technical Distinguished Engineer-Software Development in overseeing technical solutions & systems that align with the overarching strategic goals. This role involves architectural oversight, design, developing and supporting complex and large-scale business initiatives, which are often based on contractual agreements for Wholesale, while ensuring the delivery of a best-in-class customer experience.

• Defining and driving architecture, modernization and owning Solution Architecture from definition phase to go-live phase.

• Providing architectural oversight by aligning with resellers to define the requirements and design for large-scale software systems and services that best support business needs.

• Being responsible for building mission critical solutions for Wholesale channels and internal Verizon business users.

• Determining the structure, design, and scope of the Wholesale systems with a deep understanding of enterprise application architecture.

• Leading end-to-end solutions of complex projects, ensuring privacy, compliance and security controls are maintained in all frameworks.

• Ensuring reseller SLAs are met by performance tuning of mission critical applications.

• Identifying and proposing technical solutions in high-pressure situations, contributing recommendations and working effectively in ambiguous environments.

• Partnering with key cross-functional stakeholders including Wholesale, Revenue Assurance, Finance, Network, GTS, and external customers.

• Managing the technical aspect of implementation and being a mentor for the development team,

• Designing highly performant and scalable cloud-based and emerging technology solutions for a critical, high-volume Verizon service stream.

• Developing and distributing comprehensive documentation for new features and highly impactful application changes to ensure relevant teams are promptly informed.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

• Experience in programming, Operational support ,Database Technologies.

• Experience with Enterprise Architecture Framework and Microservices Architecture.

• Experience in building and designing end-to-end application using JAVA/J2EE Technologies

• Experience in Database Technologies with large database(example 250 TB+)

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Telecom experience especially with Ordering & Billing applications

• Strong Oracle PL/SQL: complex SQL, performance tuning

• Experience in Cloud technologies especially Oracle Cloud

• Experience in CI/CD pipeline and DevOps tools ((GIT/Stash, Fortify, Jenkins, etc)

• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Apache Camel

• Experience Unix/Linux, Perl, Shell scripting

• Experience in using AI tools - CoPilot, Generative AI and Agentic AI

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Agile Software development process & applicable methodologies
