Media Forensics is the scientific study into the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of audio, video, and image evidence obtained during the course of investigations and litigious proceedings.
The National Center for Media Forensics actively develops basic and applied research projects in areas affecting the analysis and recovery of digital forensic multimedia for courtroom proceedings. Areas include the enhancement and authentication of digital forensic audio and imagery as well as biometric comparisons and event analyses from forensic recordings.
The National Center for Media Forensics offers a Master of Science in Media Forensics (MSMF) degree program. This program prepares students from various backgrounds for work in the field of forensic audio, video, and image analysis utilizing the state-of-the-art methods and technology necessary to fight crime in the digital age. MSMF classes are presented in a hybrid format combining primarily online learning with a small portion of concentrated in-person classes. MSMF coursework prepares students for research, teaching, or forensic practice in the investigative application of scientific methods aiding the criminal and civil justice systems.
Lecturer appointments are at-will and teaching assignments are determined on a semester by semester basis. Teaching assignments may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule of courses offered each term.

Lecturer of Media Forensics
What you will do: 100% Teaching
Lecturers in the MSMF teach graduate-level courses in digital and multimedia forensics and related fields. Lecturers are responsible for the preparation of course syllabi, content, lectures, presentations, and student assignments; evaluation of student work; tracking and progress of student attendance and engagement; management of course in online platform Canvas; etc. Lecturers teach up to 6 credit hours in a semester. Subjects may include:
* Forensic Science and Litigation
* Foundations and Research Practices in Media Forensics
* Forensic Audio, Video, and Image Analysis
* MATLAB for Forensic Audio, Video, and Image Analysis
* Computer Forensics
* Mobile Phone Forensics
* Report Writing and Court Testimony
* Experiential Lab

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
* Master's Degree in Media Forensics or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
* Three or more years of experience in digital and multimedia forensics
* Pedagogical experience (e.g., university teaching, training, certifications, etc.)

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $5,371.19 per 3 credit course.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
This position is not eligible for benefits.
