Job Overview:

Make your mark at Ingersoll Rand as our Payroll Analyst. Step into a high-impact role where your analysis, problem-solving, and collaboration directly influence accuracy, reporting, and business decisions. Serving as a pivot point between Payroll and Finance, you'll own payroll reconciliation and root cause analysis, ensuring discrepancies are identified, resolved, and prevented-while also forecasting payroll spend to support budgeting and financial planning.

Beyond the numbers, you'll build and maintain payroll analytics and dashboards that deliver clear, actionable insights-helping shape strategy, strengthen processes, and improve overall payroll performance. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role that partners closely with Finance, HR, field teams, and senior leadership, giving you the opportunity to showcase your expertise and make a measurable impact across the organization. As part of the broader HRIS and Payroll team, you'll collaborate to collect, analyze, and reconcile critical data-ensuring accuracy at every step.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish processes and techniques for reconciling payroll data with financial data, complete reconciliation on a weekly basis using Excel and other tools to determine root cause variances
  • Identify payroll process opportunities for improvement through root cause analysis
  • Establish key performance indicators for HR and Payroll
  • Monthly statistical analysis to forecast payroll budgets
  • Participate in process improvement discussions and regular audits by providing data to support initiatives
  • Support the Mergers and Acquisitions team with new companies that are added to the payroll
  • Other analytic duties as requested



Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Accounting, Finance or a business-related major field of study
  • 5+ years accounting and/or financial analysis experience
  • 2+ years of payroll experience
  • 2+ years of experience with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Financial & Payroll Acumen: Understands payroll processes, financial reconciliation, and budgeting, including forecasting and variance analysis to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Data Analysis & Systems Expertise: Demonstrates expertise analyzing large datasets to identify trends, insights, and organizational issues, with proven experience extracting and working with data from ERP, HRIS, or similar systems.
  • Process Improvement & Quality Focus: Process-oriented, identifies gaps, drives continuous improvement, and ensures data accuracy through thorough, detail-focused review.
  • Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Identifies root causes of errors and applies critical thinking to solve complex challenges in fast-paced environments.
  • Project & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners across teams to support initiatives, process improvements, audits, and organizational priorities through data-driven insights.
  • Communication & Decision Making: Communicates clearly and effectively while making sound decisions and maintaining composure under pressure.



Preferences:

  • M&A payroll post-integration experience
  • Experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) systems

Pay Range:
The base pay range for this role is $75,000 - $105,000 annually. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
