What you'll be doing...

Verizon's Consumer Wholesale plays a crucial role in how Verizon presents itself in the marketplace, enabling additional revenue streams and subscriber growth through consumer-focused MVNO distribution channels.

The GTS team seeks a highly innovative and technical Principal Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of the Wholesale suite of applications. This key role involves developing & supporting complex applications, which are often based on contractual agreements for Wholesale, while ensuring the delivery of a best-in-class customer experience.

What you will be doing

• Leading discussions with the business & resellers to determine the requirements and design of large-scale software systems and services that best meets the needs of the business.

• being responsible for building mission critical solutions for Wholesale channels and internal Verizon business users.

• Assessing the solution's compliance and consistency with all established Reseller agreements and contracts.

• Determining the structure, design, and scope of the Wholesale systems with a deep understanding of enterprise application architecture.

• Identifying and proposing technical solutions in high-pressure situations, contributing recommendations and working effectively in ambiguous environments.

• Supporting the production rollout of enhancements, including validation and resolution of post-production issues to ensure the Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) is met.

• Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, Vendor partners and business teams Partnering with key cross-functional stakeholders including Wholesale, Revenue Assurance, Finance, Network, GTS, and external customers.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

• Experience in programming, Operational support ,Database Technologies or relevant work experience.

• Experience in design & development using JAVA/J2EE Technologies.

• Experience with writing SQL queries.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Telecom experience especially with Ordering, Provisioning & Billing applications.

• Experience with Unix/Linux.

• Knowledge of Apache Tomcat, Apache Camel.

• Experience in CI/CD pipeline and DevOps tools ((GIT/Stash, Fortify, Jenkins, etc).

• Exposure in creating scripts, analyzing and debugging the prod issues.

• Operational Experience with tools as New Relic, Grafana, Splunk.

• Knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Boot & Data Access layer.

• Knowledge of common web front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and React.JS).

• Experience with Operations & support: incident triage, RCA, SLAs.

• Experience in Cloud technologies .

• Knowledge of MQ, APIGEE, Kafka.

• Agile Software development process & applicable methodologies.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in using AI tools - CoPilot, Generative AI and Agentic AI.

• Knowledge of Microservices Architecture and related technologies.
