Equipment Operator – Sewer Operations (Local 955) Posting Number: [Insert] Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7: 30 a.m. to 4: 30 p.m. with occasional Saturdays from 8: 00 a.m. to 2: 00 p.m. The City of Columbia Utilities Department is hiring Equipment Operators to support sewer operations that protect public health and keep essential infrastructure running smoothly. This role supports sewer system maintenance and operations by safely transporting materials, assisting with infrastructure work, and maintaining equipment. Key Responsibilities: Operate a wide range of heavy equipment and commercial vehicles Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Required Licenses and Certifications: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) What You Bring: Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and tools Work Environment: This position involves outdoor work and operation of heavy equipment in a variety of conditions. The City of Columbia provides training, equipment, and safety protocols to ensure employees can perform their work safely and effectively.
