Job Summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, has an opening for an on-site Summer Operations Intern at our Springboro, Oh location. We take pride in supporting the mission of the warfighter by delivering the best, to the best. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associate with our core mission. Looking for an individual with interst in warehouse management and/or logistics.


Additional Responsibilities

-Completed Sophomore year in college majoring in Business or Similar programs
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-Excellent organizational, prioritization skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment



Job Summary-

-Develop and implement a standardized rack location naming convention to improve organziation and effiiciency in the warehouse

-Align and update inventory data in the ERP system with physical inventory records for accuracy

-Audit warehouse processess to propose and execute improvements in inventory tracking and storage solutions

-Support inventory control tasks, including cycle counts, data updates, and workflow optimizations



Responsibilities-

Essential Functions:

    Provides support to professional employees working in an organizational function related to the Intern's area of study.
  • Contributes to assigned projects and may assist with the development and maintenance of documentation or records.
  • Learns organizational processes and procedures.
  • Job shadows other more experienced professionals and or support staff.
  • May also support the documentation & updates of procedures or work instructions.
  • Handles basic issues and problems


Qualifications-

Required Qualifications:

  • Required education and experience: Must be currently enrolled in related Business courses or be within 6 months of graduation; No prior experience needed.
  • Must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Oral and written communication skills. Attentiveness. Ability to understand and follow directions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
  • Will be requied to be on the production floor and warehouse (both not climate controlled)
  • Need to be able to wear PPE (eye and ear protection and safety shoes)

Travel Requirements:

  • No or very little travel likely.
