SmithGroup is looking for a Senior Marketing Operations Specialist to join our team. This role can be located within a commutable distance to one of SmithGroup's offices.



Working with us, you will:




  • Marketing Operations & Performance (25%):



    • Support the development, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of firmwide marketing tools, processes, and workflows.
    • Organize, produce, and maintain firmwide marketing collateral, boilerplate content, statistics, and proposal resources.
    • Create, analyze, and distribute reports related to key marketing and business development performance metrics.
    • Lead or support firmwide market and competitor research efforts, as needed.
    • Track, manage, and report key marketing data including awards, thought leadership activity, pursuits, and client survey results.



    Training & Development (25%)



    • Support the development and delivery of firmwide training related to marketing, business development, and communications.
    • Train marketing and business development teams on new tools, systems, and processes to improve efficiency and adoption.
    • Develop training documentation, resources, and job aids to support consistent use of marketing systems and workflows.
    • Train and support large groups outside of marketing and business development, including firmwide leadership.
    • Act as a subject matter expert and mentor for marketing staff in areas of marketing operations and technology.



    Technology & Information Systems (30%):



    • Lead training, data quality, and process initiatives related to key marketing information systems, including Microsoft Dynamics, OpenAsset, SharePoint, Teams, GovWin, and other related platforms.
    • Identify opportunities to improve system usability, reporting, and data integrity, and collaborate with internal partners to implement improvements.
    • Provide ongoing system support and troubleshooting for marketing, business development, and project leadership users.
    • Partner closely with the Marketing Operations Manager on the evaluation and implementation of new marketing technologies and tools.
    • Represent the Marketing team in IT and accounting system initiatives that impact marketing operations.
    • Review and evaluate requested database changes to prevent negative impact across departments.
    • Manage list development, segmentation, and maintenance to support email marketing campaigns.



    Initiatives (20%):



    • Support firmwide marketing and business development initiatives in collaboration with Managing Partners, Marketing Director, Communications Director, and Market and Regional leaders.
    • Provide marketing research, systems support, and training for mergers, acquisitions, and firm integrations.
    • Contribute to cross-market and cross-discipline initiatives that advance firmwide growth goals.





An ideal candidate has:



  • Minimum of 7 years of work experience in the A/E/C industry required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, OpenAsset, SharePoint, Teams, and other systems.
  • Strong understanding of marketing operations, pursuit processes, and business development within the A/E/C industry.
  • Understanding of marketing fundamentals, graphic layout principles, and storytelling applied to pursuit and marketing materials.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in written, visual, and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior marketing staff.
  • Excellent organization, time-management, and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically while maintaining operational rigor.
  • Advanced technical, graphic, and presentation skills

While we may ultimately pay more or less than a posted salary range, at the time of posting the anticipated salary range for this position is $77,000 to $107,000 annually and you are eligible for a performance-based bonus each year.
