How You'll Contribute:
The Senior ESS Field Service Engineer is a key technical resource responsible for providing onsite troubleshooting, diagnostic support, and handson resolution for a wide range of Electronic Security Systems (ESS). This role supports both field service engineers and technicians by addressing complex technical issues, ensuring operational continuity, and contributing to the success of managed service efforts.
In addition to technical expertise, the Senior ESS Field Service Engineer will lead smallscale service projects and system upgrades. This includes coordinating schedules, collaborating with service and installation teams, and guiding technical personnel to ensure successful project execution. The role reports directly to the Field Services Director and requires daily status reporting on ticket closure, project progress, and program updates.
Work will involve servicing and supporting ESS technologies such as card access systems, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems across diverse environments, including corporate offices, warehouses, distribution centers, data centers, and active construction sites.
The position also serves as an onsite liaison, representing Diversified while coordinating between the client, internal teams, and other onsite personnel. Diversified supports continued learning through paid professional development and industry certification opportunities.
This is a fulltime onsite role, Monday through Friday, with an eighthour daily schedule determined by Diversified and the client. Overtime, including oncall rotations with associated pay, may be required based on operational needs.
NOTE - US Citizenship is a requirement for this position due to the government customers it supports.
What You'll Do:
- Demonstrated advanced technical skills in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and break/fix repairs on complex Electronic Security Systems (ESS), including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems.
- Ability to serve as the primary technical escalation point for all ESSrelated issues, providing expertlevel diagnostics, fault isolation, rootcause analysis, and resolution of medium- to highcomplexity problems.
- Proven experience overseeing the repair, service, and operational health of ESS equipment, including planning and implementing system improvements to enhance performance and reliability.
- Strong capability in developing, executing, and tracking daily and weekly preventive maintenance schedules, including reporting to ensure optimized system readiness and functionality across customized spaces.
- Competence in identifying defective, failed, or degraded equipment and taking full ownership through resolution, including documentation, communication, and followthrough.
- Experience coordinating with equipment manufacturers, developers, engineers, and project managers on the client's behalf to resolve complex technical issues.
- Ability to perform safe, precise fault diagnosis, including removal, repair, testing, implementation, and verification of ESS components, devices, and systems.
- Skilled in managing the daily configuration, operation, monitoring, and optimization of ESS platforms and related technologies.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies, with the ability to oversee planning and execution of improvements necessary to maintain ESS performance in missioncritical areas.
- Strong communication and customerfacing skills, with the ability to act as liaison between onsite teams and Diversified Service Management, ensuring alignment and professional representation.
- Experience collaborating with client teams to schedule meetings and prepare meeting spaces, ensuring required technology accommodations for trainers and endusers are fully functional.
- Ability to support and prepare live event spaces, including auditoriums and other large venues, ensuring ESSrelated needs are met for major meetings or events.
- Capability to drive and participate in continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with the client to enhance and evolve ESS technology solutions.
- Strong usersupport skills, assisting endusers in accessing, using, and troubleshooting ESS systems as needed.
- Proficiency in tracking, updating, and reporting on ESS support tickets and service requests, showing detailed progress from initial report to final resolution and providing analytical data required to meet client metrics.
- Professionalism and confidence in interfacing with executivelevel and Csuite personnel.
- Understanding of and adherence to client HR and labor regulations, including compliance with benefits, PTO policies, safety standards, and related guidelines.
- Ability to collaborate with local Service Management on actions related to client support, including but not limited to enduser training and workflow coordination.

- Manufacturer certifications from one or more leading ESS platforms, such as (Lenel, Genetec, , S2, , DMP, Bosch, Milestone, Software House , ,DCJS(VA and TX only), OSHA 30, Lift or Boom cert)
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Industry-recognized certifications in access control or video management systems (e.g., Lenel, Milestone, CCure 9000, DMP, Honeywell, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with enterpriselevel networking and IPbased ESS architectures, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of networked security devices.
- Proficiency with major ESS platforms, such as Lenel, CCure, DMP, Honeywell, Brivo, Milestone, ExacqVision, Eagle Eye, Axis, and Hanwha.
- Experience using Bluebeam for documentation, markup, and project coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support multidiscipline technical teams, including involvement in regional or enterprise-scale project deployments.
- 3+ years of experience supporting enterpriselevel security systems, including card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion detection systems in accordance with manufacturer standards and engineered drawings.
- Strong competencies in AutoCAD and Visio, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Basic wiring and cabletermination skills relevant to ESS installations and servicing.
- General computer proficiency, including experience with software and tools common within the Electronic Security Systems industry.
- Knowledge of network configuration and troubleshooting, including IP addressing, routing, and device connectivity.
- Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to work professionally with highlevel executives and in highpressure meeting environments.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods; working in high or confined spaces; and operating in hot, humid, or cold environments.
- Competence in safely using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and required safety equipment.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs. and sustain frequent bending, kneeling, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Must successfully pass a background screen and drug test.
- Experience installing security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV and intrusion systems)
