Test Lab Technician (Fastener & Joint Testing) - Fremont, CA

Pay: Up to $36.00/hour

We are hiring a hands-on Test Lab Technician to support mechanical testing, parts inventory, and lab operations in a fast-paced engineering environment. This role combines lab-based testing, data analysis, and logistics coordination to ensure a steady flow of materials and accurate test results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fastener and joint testing (torque-to-failure, torque-tension, push-out, friction analysis)
• Execute tests, analyze data, and generate detailed reports using Excel and Office 365
• Troubleshoot test setups and support root cause and failure analysis
• Manage parts inventory, shipping/receiving, and material verification
• Maintain lab equipment, ensuring calibration and operational readiness
• Coordinate with vendors for test part preparation and machining
• Create and track test incident documentation for corrective actions
• Support 5S and lab organization initiatives

Qualifications:

• Experience in a lab, R&D, or mechanical testing environment
• Working knowledge of mechanics (torque, friction, clamp load)
• Experience with universal testing systems (Instron, Zwick) and torque tools preferred
• Familiarity with ASTM, ISO, or SAE standards a plus
• Strong skills in data analysis, troubleshooting, and reporting
• Experience with inventory, logistics, or shipping/receiving is beneficial
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Jira, Confluence, or SharePoint
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
