Position Summary Seeking a detailoriented Coding Specialist to perform accurate ICD10CM diagnosis coding for home health and hospice encounters. This role ensures coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and complete documentation supporting OASIS submission, billing, and claims processing. The specialist will collaborate closely with clinical teams, physicians, and revenue cycle staff to promote highquality patient care and compliant reimbursement. This role works in MatrixCare (Care Matrix) and Epic (EP). Key Responsibilities Coding & Documentation * Assign and sequence accurate ICD10CM codes for home care and hospice encounters. * Review medical records and OASIS assessments to identify necessary diagnoses and data elements. * Ensure all coding and abstracted data are complete, compliant, and ready for OASIS, billing, and claims processing. Compliance & Coding Standards * Apply ICD10CM Official Guidelines, Coding Clinic updates, CMS regulations, and internal policies. * Use compliant provider queries when documentation is incomplete, unclear, or nonspecific. Collaboration & Communication * Work with physicians and clinical staff to obtain documentation necessary for accurate coding. * Communicate with home health, hospice, and revenue cycle teams regarding diagnosis coding and PDGM assignments. * Serve as a resource to support documentation quality and reimbursement accuracy. Productivity & Quality * Meet established productivity requirements. * Maintain a 96% or higher coding accuracy rate. Additional Duties * Perform additional coding, data abstraction, medical record, or revenue cycle tasks as assigned. *Skills* cpc, Home Health, Hospice, RN, Coder, Charge Master *Top Skills Details* cpc,Home Health,Hospice *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Education Preferred: Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding program Experience Required: Experience performing ICD10CM diagnosis coding Preferred: Home health and/or hospice coding experience Familiarity with OASIS assessments Certifications Required: One active coding certification from AHIMA, AAPC, or AHCC, including: CPC, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, HCSD, HCSH, COC, or CRC Required Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of ICD10CM coding guidelines and compliance standards Ability to review medical documentation and identify accurate diagnoses Comfortable working in EHR systems and coding software Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and productivity Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with clinical and revenue cycle teams Professional, reliable, and adaptable in a fastpaced healthcare environment *Experience Level* Entry Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
