Position Summary: The Ag Loans Intern will learn aspects of the Relationship Assistant Role, Ag Loan Officer, Credit Analyst, and other roles. The intern will learn how to coordinate the loan transaction application to closing.

Essential Functions:



  • Perform credit analysis on loans, including financial worksheets and tax returns, and occasionally on large and complex loans.
  • Work with loan assistants to produce accurate loan documents, secure proper file documentation, and perform timely follow-up with customers.
  • Sit in on various loan committee meetings.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of applicable regulations, agency and investor guidelines, bank policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate with operational projects for the wholesale loan operations department and ag loan department.
  • Visit farming operations, perform feedlot inspections, and visit outstate branches.
  • Check real estate taxes, online or via phone, to verify owner has paid taxes current and there are no tax sales and update ticklers.
  • Understand loan software and how to post loan payments.
  • Attend local community activities and volunteer representing the bank.
  • Understand and adhere to all bank policies, laws and regulations applicable to their role. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required.
  • Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.


Qualifications:



  • Currently Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and in working with other bank software.

Working Environment:
