DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) is seeking an enthusiastic intern to help advance our agency's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). In this role, you will support the implementation of DCNR's three-year DEIB Integration Plan, which focuses on five key areas: DEIB Learning, Community Engagement, Equitable Funding and Accessibility, Untold Stories of DCNR Lands, and Career Pipelines/Workforce Development. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to lasting, agency-wide change while gaining hands-on experience in public service and organizational development. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2026 through 8/28/2026.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time on a schedule that aligns with their supervisor so they are in the office on the same days. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Enrollment as a FULL-TIME student in a two-year, bachelor's or advanced degree program in one of the following majors:
- Communications
- Human Resources/Human Resources Management
- Public Administration
- Policy
- Psychology
- Sociology
- Gender or Ethnic Studies
- Note: an approved major course which includes 24 qualifying credits in the political, business or social sciences may be acceptable.
- Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
- Freshman year completed
- Pennsylvania residency or enrollment of a Pennsylvania college or university.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
