Overview

Due to continued growth, our Power Delivery group is seeking a Senior or Principal Transmission Planning Engineer to join the team. This role is the perfect blend of technical depth and leadership, where your expertise in power systems meets the opportunity to mentor engineers, drive industry standards, and deliver solutions that matter. This position can be based in the following locations:

  • Kennesaw, GA (Atlanta, GA suburb)
  • Tampa, FL
  • Lake Mary, FL
  • Palm Beach Gardens, FL
  • Any ENERCON office
  • Remote in the US for candidates not near an office

Responsibilities

Imagine a day where you lead a team of engineers through complex power system studies, collaborate with industry stakeholders, and deliver solutions that shape the reliability and future of the nation's transmission system.

  • Leadership & Supervision: Establish training and development technical leadership of engineers performing interconnection studies. Supervise small team as needed to prepare scoping documents, design criteria, and project deliverables. Ability to review team work to ensure compliance with quality and consistency expectations
  • Client Engagement: Client focused on opportunities to provide solutions for reliability and economic improvements to the client's transmission system
  • Technical Studies & Modeling: Perform power system modeling including load flow, short circuit, transient stability, contingency (N-1) studies. Perform economic modeling including production cost simulation studies. Perform studies to ensure compliance with NERC Reliability Standards and client's Planning Criteria
  • Regulatory & Industry Participation: Participate in the ISO/RTO stakeholder forums and technical committees in NERC Regional Entities to represent company's interests. Understanding of FERC regulations regarding transmission policies, tariffs, and the evolution of ISO and RTO transmission and interconnection strategies
  • Other Duties: Problem identification and resolution. Performing other duties as required #LI-MB1

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related with 6 or more years of experience in Transmission planning
  • Experience with software such as GE PSLF, TARA, Gridview, PowerWorld, PSSE, or PROMOD. Must also have experience with PSCAD.
  • Experience with ISO transmission systems, processes and policies
  • Specific experience related to generator interconnection process and implementation desired
  • Strong client relationships skills and experience within the Transmission Planning industry
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • EIT with ability to obtain PE through exam
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proven experience providing leadership for team members

Pay Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $179,000.00 /Yr.

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
