Specialty Services Drafter

Weather Shield, now a part of the Pella Family of Brands, is seeking a Specialty Services Drafter. As a Specialty Services Drafter, you will calculate sizes and create drawings needed for both customers and production. Assist production personnel, Engineers and Inside Sales with product specifications. This is a full-time onsite position at the Medford, WI office. This role can transition to a hybrid position over time.

Job Qualifications and Responsibilities:

• Review orders and quotes for accurate sizing information, adjust sizing in quotes as needed
• Create production and customer drawings using AutoCAD
• Create special grille drawings for glass production
• Calculate specific sizing dimensions for non-current product, based on formulas
• Create templates for customers/manufacturing of specific units
• Work with production staff to fix issues they have with sizing
• Monitor production holds
• Suggest improvements and help implement changes to systems and processes. Test new and updated programs. Participate in project teams
• Correspond via e-mail, Teams and phone with customers, sales staff, internal and production employees when questions arise. Keep other team members informed of new or changing information

• All general office functions - phone, e-mail, equipment, etc. Perform other job-related duties as necessary to fulfill responsibilities of position

Skills/Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Advanced knowledge and skills in operating AutoCAD systems
• High Proficiency in math (Geometry, Trigonometry)
• Ability to read tape measure
• Ability to analyze problems, offer suggestions and question inconsistencies. Must have good reasoning skills and pay strong attention to detail.
• Proficient with Windows tools (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize and organize work
• Must have a friendly, courteous, helpful and positive attitude
• Weather Shield product knowledge and systems knowledge (AS400, WSOneSource, CQ, CQ Special Drawings) preferred
