GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Executing the predefined Design of Experiment (DoE) for Bio (corn) based Polyol for coating application.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform the formulation of a batch with different polyols and catalyst loading, as well as testing (tensile, elongation, UV, crack bridge, gel time, abrasion resistance, and other applicable tests.

Support the formulation Scientist with running experiments to evaluate the polyer film performance activities.

Perform analysis of the experimental data to arrive at conclusions.

Utilize in-house analytical tools to perform measurements.

Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to the team.

Collaborate with chemists across the company for next-generation products.

Participate in team, departmental and safety meetings.

Design and conduct research experiments.

Formulation of experimental samples.

Prepare lab samples for testing.

Develop and document test methods.

Comply with all safety regulations, sound lab techniques and good record keeping.

Deliver a final presentation of your project work to the R & D group.

EXPERIENCE &/or EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

Junior or Senior in college or university; having taken basic chemistry and has completed or in the process of completing polymer chemistry; having some laboratory experience.

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to follow instruction; open to coaching, guidance, and mentorship

Self-started, ability to work independently

Collaborative; works well with team

Manage schedule well.

Strong Microsoft Office skills including Teams and Outlook.

WORK LOCATION:

This is an on-site position at our Beachwood OH laboratory.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Incumbent must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb, balance, kneel, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift up to 50 lbs.

COMPENSATION:

The hourly rate applicants in this position generally ranges between $20 and $26 . This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, collegiate status, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
