SUMMARY: The ESS Project Manager (PM) is responsible for mobilization, installation and System Acceptance Test (SAT) support of ESS systems. The ESS Project Manager will be the primary point of contact for US Government customers, overseeing everything from the initial "boots on the ground," throughout installation to final commissioning, timely preparation and submission of contract required documentation, and overseeing onsite safety compliance (filling the role of Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO). This role requires a blend of technical expertise in security hardware, organizing and leading the installation team of ESS technicians, schedule management, and financial/logistical management. At BCF, the Project Manager (PM) is a "working" role, meaning that the PM will, at times, need to jump in an assist the installation team with any number of installation tasks.

  • Ensure every activity is performed safely, coordinating with the BCF safety personnel in accordance with BCF and client safety policies and procedures
  • Perform Project Planning and Scheduling to develop and maintain installation schedules, define critical milestones and sequences of activities to ensure timely delivery of ESS solutions
  • Complete required documents (Contract Data Requirements List, CDRLs) to keep the client informed of progress and requirements
  • Lead weekly Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings to keep client and management appraised of status, opportunities, and issues
  • Oversee on-site field technicians and subcontractors, providing direct supervision, safety oversight, and technical direction during the installation and commissioning phases
  • Manage the mobilization of labor and equipment, adjusting resource levels as necessary to meet shifting project demands and site-specific challenges
  • Verify that all installed systems-including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV-function according to technical specifications and government regulatory requirements
  • Perform daily "toolbox talks" that highlight the work to be done for the day, any related safety concerns, PPE requirements for these tasks, delegation of duties for the day, and discussion of any questions the team may have
  • Must be willing to travel to various job locations, willing to work weekends, and/or Holidays

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY: This position provides assistance to lower-level employees.

Minimum Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred in related engineering field) and 5 years' experience in the design/installation of ESS systems,
  • Or, Associate's degree with 7 years' experience in the design/installation of ESS systems,
  • Or, High School diploma with 10 years' experience in the design/installation of ESS systems
  • Must be able to read system requirements and produce system diagrams, bills of materials, and other engineering and installation support materials
  • Should be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures regarding ESS design and deployment on Government installations and installation project management


COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Skilled in operating a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Must have proficiency in a variety of computer software applications in word processing and spreadsheets (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with MS Project is a plus


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CLEARANCE:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an DoD Secret security clearance (TS clearance, or ability to obtain, is a plus)
  • ESS system certifications preferred (Hirsh, Lenel, Genetec, Vindicator...)
  • Safety related certifications are a plus (OSHA 10, EM 385-1 24hr, First-Aid/CPR/AED, etc.)

Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based on that data.

Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
