Summary of Role:

To perform accounting functions including general ledger journal entries, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and correspondent account monitoring. Assist with the preparation of financial reports for both internal and external use for Broadview and its subsidiaries.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries for the Credit Union and subsidiaries in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.

  • Prepare the daily cash position and settlements requirements for the Credit Union and its subsidiaries.

  • Prepare medium risk general ledger reconciliations in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.

  • Prepare month-end processing and entries for the Credit Union and its subsidiaries.

  • Assist with the preparation of internal and external reporting including but not limited to FR2900, 945 withholding and sales tax for the Credit Union and subsidiaries.

  • Assist with the preparation of schedules for financial reports for the Management team, including but not limited to Monthly Board Reports, Quarterly Senior Reports, Trending Analysis and Dashboard for the Credit Union and its subsidiaries.

  • Maintain and record Loan participation settlements and bookkeeping.

  • Fixed Asset recordkeeping, including but not limited to setting up new assets, disposals and running monthly depreciation in accordance with GAAP.

  • Investment recordkeeping, including but not limited to processing principal and interest payments, market values and month end accounting run.

  • Assist in the preparation of schedules for the quarterly NCUA Call Report in accordance with NCUA rules and regulations.

  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports for mortgage investors; including but not limited to Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae quarterly financial reports, Mortgage Banking Call Report, annual financial reports to HUD, account reconciliations for principal and tax custodial accounts, monthly and daily settlement of investor accounts, etc.

  • Assist in the preparation of work papers and reports for all audits and regulatory exams for the Credit Union and subsidiaries.

  • Assist managers with preparing monthly budget variance reports for the various department business owners in the Credit Union as well as each subsidiary.

  • Assist other departments with accounting related tasks.

  • Complete daily settlements, this includes but is not limited to 945 backup withholding, credit card settlements and Investor payoff off and payment settlement.

  • Serve as a backup to other positions as needed, including ability to complete all Accounting Associate essential functions.

All exempt employees are also responsible for:

  • Assist with research and schedules for the Annual Audit.

  • Participate on committees with Project Management.

  • Update department policies and procedures.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience including financial services industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong working knowledge and experience with financial reconciliations.

  • Experience with compiling internal and external reporting schedules.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Working knowledge of GAAP.

  • Excellent verbal, written and auditory communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Starting Compensation: $60,329-$873,903 annually, plus a competitive benefits package.
