Job Description

Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Pay: $18 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM

Key Responsibilities

Grinding & Finishing
* Operate surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, belt grinders, and other finishing equipment.
* Grind, deburr, and polish metal parts to meet exact specifications and surfacefinish requirements.
* Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine grinding requirements.
* Inspect parts before, during, and after grinding to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.

Quality Control
* Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and comparators.
* Document inspection results and maintain accurate production records.
* Identify defects or inconsistencies and communicate issues to supervisors or engineering staff.

Machine Setup & Maintenance
* Set up grinding machines, adjust speeds, feeds, and tooling as needed.
* Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on grinding equipment.
* Ensure machines are operating safely and efficiently throughout each shift.

Safety & Compliance
* Follow all company safety policies, including PPE requirements and safe machine operation.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and hazardfree work area.
* Adhere to quality standards and production procedures.

Qualifications:
Required
* 5+ years of previous experience in metal grinding, machining, or metal fabrication.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances.
* Strong understanding of metal types, grinding wheels, abrasives, and finishing techniques.
* Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
* Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude.

Preferred
* Experience in a highprecision or ISOcertified manufacturing environment.
* Familiarity with CNC grinding equipment.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
