Genesis10 is currently seeking a Scrum Master - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As a Scrum Master supporting Technology Infrastructure Priorities, you will enable one Agile team within a Scaled Agile (ART) environment to deliver technology outcomes across Database, Middleware, and Messaging platforms. You will be accountable for facilitating the Scrum operating rhythm, strengthening delivery predictability, managing dependencies and impediments, and ensuring alignment with Enterprise Change Management and other policy requirements. This role is PI Planning-critical, driving readiness and ensuring post-PI execution stays aligned to objectives, risks, and commitments. Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and continuously improve Scrum ceremonies: Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review/Demo, and Retrospectives
- Lead PI Planning preparation for the team: ensure objectives, dependencies, risks, and capacity assumptions are ready
- Create stakeholder transparency by communicating plans, progress, risks, and dependencies using Jira/Jira Align signals and concise updates
- Proactively manage delivery risk: dependency mapping, impediment removal, escalation as needed, and ensuring compliance with Enterprise Change Management
- Partner with Product Owner/Product Manager to maintain a healthy backlog with clear priorities, ready stories, and quality acceptance criteria
- Leverage Copilot Chat (AI) and existing prompt libraries to help formulate deliverables and decompose them into epics and user stories
- Use Jira Software Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) to validate and communicate the team's plan, including capacity, dependencies, and sequencing
- Own the operating rhythm for Plans hygiene by resolving warnings so roadmap views remain trustworthy
- Use metrics to drive improvement by coaching using flow, predictability, and quality signals
- Coach for team health and performance, focusing on psychological safety, conflict navigation, and continuous improvement
- Represent the team in ART coordination (Scrum of Scrums / ART syncs) to surface and resolve dependencies early
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of delivery experience on Agile teams in complex enterprise environments
- Demonstrated mastery in Scrum facilitation and coaching
- Scaled Agile experience in an ART model: PI Planning preparation, dependency/risk management, and execution follow-through
- Strong facilitation across multiple organizational levels; skilled in alignment, decisioning, and conflict navigation
- Ability to influence, remove obstacles, and motivate people without direct authority (servant leadership)
- Executive-ready communication: crisp written updates, risk framing, and escalation judgment
- Backlog & requirements rigor: story splitting, acceptance criteria quality (Specification by Example / Gherkin), and healthy Definition of Ready/Done
- Metrics-driven improvement: uses flow/predictability/quality signals to diagnose system issues and drive measurable change
- Hands-on Jira expertise, including strong JQL proficiency
- Hands-on proficiency with Jira Software Plans (Advanced Roadmaps)
- Practical experience leveraging Copilot Chat (AI) to accelerate deliverable formulation and decomposition
- Comfort operating in governance/change-control environments
- Strong partnership with Product Owner/Product Manager and Engineering leadership
Desired skills:
- Advanced coaching techniques (e.g., Liberating Structures) and evidence of driving sustained retro action completion
- Strong working knowledge of Jira and Jira Align (planning hygiene, reporting, dependency visibility, execution signals)
- Experience supporting production readiness and operational handoffs with Operations/SRE (release readiness, runbooks, support model)
- Demonstrated use of Copilot Chat (AI) prompt patterns for story mapping and backlog refinement
- Experience creating and maintaining Jira Software Plans (Advanced Roadmaps) views for PI planning readiness and stakeholder communication
