The Curbside Pickup Team Leader plans, directs, and supervises the daily operations of the Curbside Pickup department to ensure an efficient, accurate, and friendly customer experience. This role serves as a mentor and coach to team members, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to build a highperforming team. The Team Leader implements strategies to drive sales, improve service speed and order accuracy, and consistently meet customer expectations. Responsible for maintaining department organization, food safety, and company standards, with a strong focus on peak shopping hours, order fulfillment execution, and overall store presentation.
What You'll be Doing:
- Lead the daytoday operations of the Curbside Pickup department to deliver fast, accurate, and friendly service that supports a positive Meijer brand experience.
- Model and reinforce exceptional customer service by actively engaging with customers and team members throughout the store and curbside areas.
- Plan and manage staffing needs, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and training, to ensure coverage during peak order fulfillment and pickup times.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members by providing ongoing feedback, identifying development opportunities, and supporting succession planning and internal promotions.
- Ensure team members are fully trained and compliant with all required training, food safety standards, and curbside operating procedures.
- Hold team members accountable for performance expectations, documenting performance issues and administering corrective action in partnership with Store Leadership and HR.
- Drive department performance by executing strategies that improve order accuracy, service speed, customer satisfaction, and sales while maintaining shrink and operational standards.
- Communicate and champion the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings, daily interactions, and coaching conversations.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment, promoting safety awareness and adherence to company policies.
- Spend the majority of time on the sales floor and curbside area, supporting execution, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Maintain reliable and consistent attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or its equivalent required.
- 2-3 years of related retail experience.
- One year of management experience.
- Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions. Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
- Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times
- Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization including SDITs, team members in hourly positions and team leaders.
- Successful completion of all required certifications.
