FULL SUMMARY

The Used Equipment Advisor role requires a proactive and organized mindset, leveraging market trends, historical data, competitive analysis, and detailed reporting to interpret equipment values in the secondary dealer market. Problem solving and collaboration with our sales and service organizations is key to achieving the highest levels of customer service. This includes setting and adjusting market prices, supporting our online and digital investments, and overseeing shop expenses for our make ready process. To ensure operational accuracy and efficiency, a meticulous attention to detail is essential. This role serves as a cornerstone for the ongoing growth and success of the used equipment division, providing the expertise and strategic support necessary to propel the business forward.

Used Equipment Make Ready Process



  • Ensures a seamless remarketing experience by coordinating with service departments, sales departments, and administration.
  • Performs all necessary work functions in Microsoft A/X for call creation and scheduling.
  • Thoroughly examines inspections to assess condition and market value with guidance from the Used Equipment Manager.
  • Collects essential information to qualify necessary repairs or refurbishments.
  • Prioritizes efforts to ensure timely completion of make ready process.
  • Maintains and reviews accuracy of each work order and properly documents all marketing media, repairs and services performed.
  • Assists with PO's, lien searches, vendor setup, purchasing and disbursement, EMRs, quote confirmation and reservations.


    Digital Support and Marketing



    • Works closely with the marketing and sales departments to ensure machines are available and are being marketed effectively.
    • Validates listings have complete information and quality photos.
    • Maintains asset folders in the W: Drive for general line sales used lease machine and attachments.
    • Responsible for quality control on over 20 digital platforms and online syndication services.
    • Strategically selects and proofs weekly Machinery Trader print ads.
    • Assists sales team with promotional material and consignment listings.


    Appraisals and Machine Pricing



    • Evaluates the condition and market value of heavy equipment for our customers, internal and external.
    • Provides detailed reporting on market trends, historical data, and competitive analysis.
    • Coordinates with the Used Equipment Manager and Regional Sales Managers to establish book values on trade machines.
    • Consults with sales team and customers on consignment processes and pricing strategies.
    • Reviews and update fleet pricing monthly with Used Equipment Manager and promote remarketing strategies.


    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional customer service.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to prospective buyers, sales representatives, dealer partners to address their inquiries or concerns.
    • Proficient in using computer software and systems, including MS Office Suite and CRM tools.


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of one year experience in diagnosis and repair or equivalent technical knowledge of heavy equipment repair processes, preferred.
    • Two years' customer service experience in the heavy equipment industry required, sales experience preferred.
    • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
    • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).


    PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:



    • Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
    • Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
    • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies.
