JOB TITLE: Service Engineer (Job Code: GM0822)

JOB DETAILS:

Responsible for multifaceted support functions that includes software engineering, process improvement, cost reduction and change management. Work closely with Sonos engineers in Asia and support the logistics service providers located across the world to implement NPIs, refurbishment and repair solutions for Sonos products while providing technical support for sustaining products. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure minimal disruption to the LSP production lines. Troubleshoot and provide root cause analysis on unplanned line downtime Support and calibrate WIFI Chambers as needed across all supported WIFI frequencies ensuring WIFI antennas are in the optimized positions. Support and calibrate Sonos Sound Chambers leveraging golden units and correct placement of microphones. Create b-stock BOMs to support NPI, refurbishment and repair, create new sub-assemblies in Arena, manage sourcing and drawings. Create detailed testing procedures, teardown and reassembly instructions Maintain documentation on HPU's, cycle times and station capacities Identify opportunities for process improvement reducing touch times and ensuring rate card pricing is reflective of the latest timings to understand unit economics. Maintain the global harvesting playbook for components that can be recovered and reused. Monitor and report process yields on a weekly basis and meet with the LSP's to review yields monthly. Analyze screening data for RMAs found to have no defect. Collaborate with the test engineers and the LSPs to identify potential test gaps and report recommendations quarterly. Collaborate with Customer Experience and Sustaining Engineering on returns avoidance and quality improvement initiatives. May work from home when not reporting to Sonos' Louisville, KY office. Up to 20% domestic travel required to vendor sites.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related technical field plus 3 years of experience in the offered position or related position.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3 years of experience in Radio Frequency (RF) testing, test automation, or product development for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth-enabled consumer electronics devices.
  • 3 years of experience in C# and Python programming for test automation and data analysis using Visual Studio Windows Forms Applications.
  • 3 years of experience using Radio Frequency (RF) test equipment, including spectrum/network analyzers, signal generators and oscilloscopes, and configuring Wi-Fi Routers to achieve optimal Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI).
  • 3 years of experience with Wi-Fi 4G/5G/6G/MIMO, Bluetooth, and cellular communication standards (LTE) as well as network Traffic Analysis using Wireshark and test validation.
  • 3 years of experience in version control software which include Git/GitHub.
  • 3 years of experience supporting manufacturing test processes and working with cross functional organizations.
  • 3 years of experience in releasing new products, finalizing test requirements related to Audio (using National Instruments-Max Tools), Command Line Interface for products and Adb commands using Android SDK platform tools.
  • 3 years of experience in writing Technical Documentation related to the New Product Introduction (NPI) Cycle.
  • 3 years of experience in process optimization, yield improvement, and sustaining engineering projects.
  • 2 years of experience with Keyence Camera's and Image processing tools for Image Analysis.
  • 2 years of experience in serial communication interfaces (USB/UART/SPI/I2C Protocols).

OTHER: Salary range: $100,006 per year to $140,000 per year
