Automotive Mechanical Technician

STS Technical Services is hiring Automotive Mechanical Technicians in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, and validating mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and operating specialized systems within vehicle assemblies. This role also supports team development by training assembly personnel and ensuring proper system usage during build and final inspection processes. Strong communication and teamwork are critical to success in this position.

• Maintain safety awareness when working with high voltage, high pressure hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair products
  
• Perform first-time installation of detail parts onto vehicles
  
• Reinstall all removed components
  
• Clean parts before and after installation
  
• Conduct functional testing of assembled systems
  
• Apply strong mechanical aptitude to support build and repair processes
  
• Work independently to meet production schedules
  
• Fabricate and rework parts safely for component assembly
  
• Diagnose and repair low voltage control systems
  

• High school diploma or GED
  
• 3 or more years of mechanical experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
  
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience
  

• Ten or more years of mechanical experience in automotive or machinery applications
  
• Experience using basic hand tools
  
• Understanding of JD Edwards system
  
• Electrical system programming knowledge
  
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs
  
• Experience with general fabrication equipment
  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
