Work Type: Part-time Nature of Work: This is skilled journey work in one of the building or related trades, such as plumbing or carpentry, involving the repair and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Employees in this classification exercise some independence in the performance of their duties, and may act as a lead worker, however any major changes in work procedures and policies are discussed with and approved by a designated supervisor. Education and Experience: (The knowledge, skills, and abilities above may be acquired through, but are not limited to, the following combination of education and/or experience.) Four (4) years of experience in building and maintenance work involving at least two of the building trades, two (2) years of which must have been at the journey level in one trade. Special Qualifications: An employee in this classification must possess a motor vehicle operator's license and, depending on the position, may be required to obtain a 2nd Grade Hoisting and Portable Engineer's Certificate by the end of the probationary period. Also depending upon the position, an incumbent may be required to possess a forklift operator's certificate and/or a Class "A" commercial motor vehicle operator's license with "N" endorsement and no air brake restrictions or a Class "A" commercial motor vehicle operator's license with "N" endorsement and "O" restriction by the end of the probationary period.
