Job Purpose

Supervise, train, and enhance the skills of the Associate Analytics and Reporting Analyst, ensuring effective performance management and operational delivery. Contribute to the development of Procurement's long-term data strategy by engaging with stakeholders to identify requirements, assess challenges, and evaluate current and future needs. Analyze technical advancements (e.g., A.I.) and market trends to inform and validate the data strategy, while effectively communicating it to key stakeholders. Manage the data schemas and oversee the end-to-end refresh process for complex global procurement insights, including spend profiling, contract management, supply chain risk identification, and opportunity analysis dashboards. Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the development of procurement's end-to-end data schema, focusing on the discovery, validation, and integration of new data sources and fields. Ensure data integrity and quality control throughout the data processing cycles by leading engagement with internal and external data providers, conducting extensive data control and quality checks prior to publication. Maintain the integrity of all associated data mapping models and enrichment processes that support the quality and accuracy of procurement insights. Act as the SME for proposed taxonomy changes submitted to the Taxonomy Change Management Board, providing recommendations for systemization and managing the master taxonomy for global procurement insights. Lead investigations to resolution for significant data issues affecting procurement operations, reporting, and insights. Design, build, and implement advanced procurement data models that incorporate integrated data sources, advanced statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive modelling algorithms. Oversee dashboard development by collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, creating supporting data schemas, and producing interactive dashboards that deliver operational insights to the procurement function. Manage the operational performance of third-party contracted data managers and data intelligence providers, ensuring compliance with agreed Service Level Agreements. Act as the SME on procurement insights, leading engagement and training for global end users, while enhancing their understanding of procurement data, dashboards, and insights.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any) or a related field and 5 years of experience in a related data scientist, business analyst, or quantitative analyst occupation required. Alternatively, a Master's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (any) or a related field and 3 years of experience in a related data scientist, business analyst, or quantitative analyst occupation are acceptable. The position also requires: 3 years of experience leading data transformation and business insight development projects; 3 years of experience translating technical knowledge into business terms; 3 years of experience in data mining and statistical analysis, pattern recognition and predictive modelling; 3 years of experience with complex data architecture schemas, data transformation processes (ETL) and data enrichment methodology associated to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) spend extraction and management, procurement supply chain insights and data quality management; 3 years of experience with SQL, or equivalent languages (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL and MySQL) for querying and managing data in relational databases; 3 years of advanced Excel experience, including complex formula creation, statistical and graphical analysis, pivot tables, and macro development; 3 years of experience with data architecture tools; and 3 years of experience with dashboard development and data visualization tools. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at the National Grid offices in Waltham, MA. $161,803 - $161,803 per year.
