Overview Abacus Technology is seeking a Cloud Architect to provide technical support of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructures for the Federal Aviation Administration. This is a full-time position. Responsibilities
Conduct cloud migration readiness assessments and develop migration strategies and roadmaps.
Qualifications 10+ years experience with enterprise or large scale virtual environments. Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Extensive experience in systems architecture, requirements analysis, design, integration, testing, and cloud transition. Experience in federal contracting or highly regulated enterprise environments. Expert knowledge of cloud-native AWS services and related tools. Expertise in automation tools, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps practices, and cloud governance. Proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CDK). Advanced knowledge of virtualization platforms and cloud service models, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and virtual switches. Hands-on experience with migration strategies ensuring low-risk transitions. Able to manage multiple projects and adapt to new technologies. Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Must have strong documentation skills and a commitment to scalable, maintainable engineering practices Strong analytical, problem-solving, and scripting skills. Must be detail-oriented with a focus on quality and compliance. Must be a US citizen.
