Position Summary

As an Acquisition Program Engineer - System Security at Eglin AFB, you're the guardian of the Air Force's most advanced systems-locking down classified tech, shaping cybersecurity defenses, and keeping missioncritical programs safe from threats. You blend sharp engineering instincts with rocksolid security savvy, ensuring every system stays protected from design to deployment. And when you power down for the day? The Emerald Coast's whitesand beaches and turquoise water are waiting just outside the gate-security cleared, sun approved.



Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

AntiTamper (AT)
    Identify and assess Critical Program Information (CPI) and determine when AT protections are required.
  • Develop AT specifications and procedures that prevent or delay exploitation of critical technologies.
  • Support and maintain AT sections of the Program Protection Plan.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (e.g., SAF/IA, AT Evaluation Team, Weapons AO, OSI/PJ, 48 CTS) to enable compliant testing and fielding.
Information Assurance (IA)
  • Apply IA engineering to airtoair and airtoground weapon systems in accordance with DoDI 5200.44 and DoDI 8500.01E.
  • Identify missioncritical functions and critical components, and implement riskmanagement practices early in system design.
  • Develop IA specifications and support audits, assessments, and integration of secure components.
Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM)
  • Implement SCRM per DoDI 4140.01, including identifying and mitigating internal and external supplychain risks.
  • Prevent introduction of counterfeit materials and apply lifecycle controls to protect system integrity.
  • Support development of SCRM strategies for quality, supplier reliability, natural disasters, demand shifts, and global disruptions.
Platform Information Technology (PIT)
  • Support PIT and PITIA engineering for missioncritical embedded systems.
  • Apply AFLCMC's PIT Security Control Assessor (SCA) processes.
  • Ensure secure interconnections with NIPRNET, SIPRNET, and JWICS, including configuration and crossdomain considerations.
Encryption & RMF
  • Support design and implementation of encryption solutions for weaponsystem security.
  • Provide RMFaligned engineering support for assessment, authorization, and continuousmonitoring activities.


Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: TS/SCI Eligible

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABETaccredited) or closely related technical discipline

Years of Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: TS/SCI Eligible

Education: Master's Degree in related discipline

Years of experience: 15+ years of relevant experience

Prefered Technical Skills

  • Prior experience with Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and procedures.
