The SBA Market Executive plays a critical role in driving the growth and success of our organization's small business initiatives. This position is responsible for leading and executing strategies that foster the expansion and development of small businesses, leveraging SBA programs and resources. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of small business needs, a strong grasp of SBA programs, and the ability to forge partnerships to facilitate business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Commercial and Business Banking Division leaders to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organization's mission and objectives for small business growth through SBA initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest SBA programs, grants, loans, and resources. Identify opportunities to utilize these resources effectively for the benefit of small businesses within our network.
  • Manage a team of lending and credit professionals focused on SBA business development while providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SBA representatives, industry associations, chambers of commerce, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration and access additional resources.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to small business owners, connecting them with relevant SBA resources to enhance their growth, sustainability, and success.
  • Develop and execute outreach campaigns to increase awareness of our organization's SBA-related offerings and drive engagement from small businesses.
  • Plan and deliver educational workshops, webinars, and training sessions that empower small business owners with the knowledge and tools to succeed.
  • Monitor and analyze data related to small business development initiatives, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for budget planning and management for SBA-related programs, ensuring efficient and effective utilization of resources.
  • Prepare regular reports on the progress and impact of SBA business development efforts, presenting findings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Providing leadership focused on safe and sound underwriting practices while structuring loans appropriately to balance risk and reward.
  • Manage a team of SBA experts for entire footprint of the Bank that will attend SBA events an d organize and promote the Banks Brand as an SBA Lender.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, with at least 5 years specifically in SBA-related roles.
  • Strong understanding of SBA programs, regulations, and their application to small businesses.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven leadership experience, including team management.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A passion for small business growth and a commitment to supporting entrepreneurs.
  • Proficiency in relevant software tools (CRM, data analysis, etc.).
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving business development goals.
  • Formal Commercial Credit Training Preferred
