This position will be open to internal and external candidates and will close on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

The Service Tech position pays between $56,028 to $70,035 and the Senior Service Tech position pays between $63,848 to $79,810 and is dependent upon skills, experience and education of the successful candidate. This pay range is composed of a current base pay range of $48,720 to $60,900 with 15% supplemental pay for the Service Tech position and $55,520 to $69,400 with 15% supplemental pay for the Senior Service Tech position, which is administered in accordance with the NMGC's Supplemental Pay Policy.

The Successful candidate must live within 30 minutes of the Lovington Service Center.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Completes meter orders to include connects, disconnects, meter sets, and meter exchanges, in a timely and safe manner.
May investigate and respond to gas emergency orders and requests, such as blowing gas lines, in compliance with Company emergency and safety guidelines.
Prepares and completes in a timely/accurate manner various/required reports in the performance of assigned duties, such as damage reports, odorant test reports and/or related system reports.
Collaborates and consults with various individuals and groups to ensure the timely and safe completion of work assignments.
May be assigned to monitor warehousing of supplies and/or related materials as required or assigned.

*Senior Level Position: Entry Level Duties Plus Additional Responsibilities

Successful Candidate Must Have:

* A high school diploma or GED
* Service Tech: 0-4 years of related experience and the ability to obtain your Journeyman's Gasfitter's License (JGL) within 2.5 years
* Senior Service Tech: 4 years of direct experience and Journeyman Gas Fitter's License (JGL)
* A valid driver's license and depending on position and/or geographic locations, the ability to obtain and maintain a New Mexico Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Working ConditionsField environment. Shall be required to work overtime and/or on-call and handle rotational standby duty or emergency response as needed. May be required to work at various job sites, out of town, and/or remote locations for extended periods. Personal protective equipment including but are not limited to safety glasses, puncture resistance boots, hard hat, and respirator mask worn while performing the field functions. Frequent required to stand and/or walk to 2/3 of the time and sit up to 1/3 of the time. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work from an elevated position, such as ladders and rooftops. Will be exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and natural gas emergencies and situations.
